Training Cancellation & Refund Policy
Terms for professional training cancellations, transfers, payments, and refunds.
Last updated: August 2026
This policy applies to BWRT® Canada professional training registrations unless different written terms are clearly stated for a particular event. Therapy cancellations are governed by the policy provided through the TherapyShift/Jane booking process.
1. Training registration
A place is confirmed only when BWRT® Canada has accepted the registration, the applicable eligibility requirements have been met, and the required payment has been successfully processed.
BWRT® Canada may verify professional education, registration or certification, clinical scope, professional liability insurance, and other eligibility requirements before confirming training participation.
If a participant has provided accurate information but BWRT® Canada determines that the participant does not meet the eligibility requirements, course fees paid directly to BWRT® Canada will be refunded in full. The ordinary cancellation administration fee will not apply in this circumstance.
Registration is personal to the participant and may not be transferred except in accordance with this policy.
2. Seven-day cancellation period
A participant may request cancellation in writing within seven calendar days of payment for a full refund of course fees, provided the request is also received before training materials, recordings, protected course access, or other substantial digital content have been supplied and before the training begins, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection legislation.
3. Cancellations after seven days
After the seven-day period, registration fees are normally non-refundable.
Registration fees become committed to venue hire, catering, licensing fees, instructor costs, administration, course materials, and other event expenses associated with delivering the training.
4. Transfer to another person or date
BWRT® Canada may, at its discretion, allow an eligible replacement participant or a transfer to a later BWRT® Canada training date.
Requests must be made in writing before the event.
Transfers are not guaranteed and may be subject to:
- eligibility approval;
- available places;
- any applicable difference in course fees;
- third-party charges; or
- an administration fee.
5. Non-attendance and partial attendance
No refund is provided for non-attendance, late arrival, early departure, failure to complete required attendance, or inability to participate because of personal technology, travel, work, health, licensing, immigration, or scheduling circumstances.
Completion and certification requirements remain applicable.
6. Cancellation or change by BWRT® Canada
BWRT® Canada may change a venue, instructor, delivery format, schedule, or other event detail where reasonably necessary.
If BWRT® Canada cancels an event and does not offer an acceptable replacement date, course fees paid directly to BWRT® Canada will be refunded.
BWRT® Canada's liability is limited to the amount of course fees paid directly to BWRT® Canada.
BWRT® Canada is not responsible for travel, accommodation, childcare, lost income, exchange-rate differences, or any other consequential or indirect expenses.
7. Events beyond our reasonable control
BWRT® Canada is not responsible for delays, changes, or cancellations resulting from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, public health emergencies, government restrictions, venue closures, utility failures, transportation disruptions, or other unforeseen events.
Where reasonably possible, BWRT® Canada will offer an alternative training date or another reasonable arrangement.
8. Exceptional circumstances
Serious and documented exceptional circumstances may be considered individually but do not create an automatic right to a refund.
Any accommodation, credit, transfer, or partial refund offered is entirely at the discretion of BWRT® Canada unless otherwise required by law.
9. How to request a cancellation or transfer
Requests must be submitted in writing to training@bwrt-canada.ca.
Please include:
- the participant's name;
- the course date; and
- the reason for the request, where applicable.
The date the written request is received will be used when applying this policy.
10. Refund processing
Approved refunds will normally be returned to the original payment method.
Where a refund is approved, BWRT® Canada may deduct an administration fee of up to $30 CAD, together with any non-refundable payment processing fees, currency-conversion charges, or other third-party charges incurred by BWRT® Canada, where permitted by applicable law.
Refunds will normally be processed within a reasonable period after approval.
11. Course materials and intellectual property
Course materials are provided solely for the registered participant.
Training materials, manuals, recordings, presentations, handouts, digital resources, and other course content may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, shared, recorded, published, uploaded, or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission from BWRT® Canada and any applicable copyright holder.
